Kanab, Utah Activities Movie Sets In 1922, Kanab was struck by blight, making cattle unprofitable and destroying the town. The Parry brothers decided to market the town to Hollywood, who loved the idea and proceeded to shoot over 80 major motion pictures and numerous television series in Kanab. The locals are proud of this film heritage, and many of the sets and props from these movies are lovingly maintained.
